Dr. Sonstein has spent his entire career in academia, serving as faculty member, program director, Department Head and Assistant Dean at Eastern Michigan University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of Dayton and Columbus College. He earned a BS from Rutgers Universitiy and a PhD in Microbiology and Biochemistry from Hahnemann Medical College and has conducted basic, preclinical and clinical research in the area of antibiotic mechanism of action and antibiotic resistance, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology.
He is Chair of the Commission on Accreditation of Academic Programs in Clinical Research, serves on the Advisory Board of the Alliance for Clinical Research Excellence and Safety, is a member of the Regulatory Affairs Certification Board, served on the Board of Directors of the Drug Information Association and was a founding member of the Consortium of Academic Programs in Clinical Research.
