IFAPP Academy:
Value of Certification

Most non-academic certification programs are created, sponsored, or affiliated with professional associations, trade organizations, or private vendors interested in raising ethical and professional standards. With a valued certification and the right credentials, you can establish your medical affairs expertise, education, and competence to lead and direct projects.

IFAPP and King’s College London have agreed on a strategic collaboration to produce a Professional Certification Program in Medical Affairs in Medicines Development to be offered to biomedical professionals working or willing to work in this functional area.

Why a Professional Certificate?

Patients, physicians, healthcare providers, insurers and quality organizations regard certification as an important measure of a biomedical professional’s knowledge, experience, and skills to provide quality services within a given discipline.

Certification in the bio-medical profession is often offered to apply professional standards, increase the level of practice, and protect the public. Obtaining this certification indicates that you speak and understand the complex language of Medical Affairs and Medicines Development while connecting you to a community of patients, regulatory and clinical research professionals, business managers, and academic experts worldwide.

How would this Certification work?

Professional certification, trade certification, or professional designation, is a designation earned by a person to assure qualification to perform a job or task.  The use of post-nominal letters is an acknowledgment of educational achievement or professional qualification.

This professional and academic certification is portable worldwide and will allow the use of post-nominal letters (CMD) for those individuals who successfully complete the program requirements.

Who should apply?

If you want to leverage your career in the biopharmaceutical industry to become an experienced medical affairs professional responsible for creating and implementing strategies, communicating and generating value, with the goal to improve patient outcomes and public health, then this certification is the right choice for you.
