Dominique Dubois
MD, FBCPM, FFPM

Dominique is a Physician Specialist in Pharmaceutical Medicine, Lecturer in Pharmacoeconomics and Patient Reported Outcomes Research, and Vice-Chairman of PHARMED, the ‘Post-graduate Programme in Pharmaceutical Medicine and Medicines Development Sciences ‘ at the University of Brussels (ULB). He is also invited lecturer at the Université de Lyon and at the Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. He is the author of more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is the Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers in Pharmaceutical Medicine & Outcomes Research (Impact Factor: 4.4).

He has held different leading positions within the pharmaceutical industry (Pfizer 1981-1994, Johnson & Johnson 1995 – 2008), where he was particularly involved in clinical research and the advancement of Health Economics and Patient-Reported Outcomes research. He is recipient of several Standards of Leadership awards and winner of the Johnson & Johnson 2002 Pharmaceutical R&D golden award for Innovation at Work.

He contributed to initiatives shaping the international regulatory environment, such as the FDA PRO draft guidance and the European Medicines Agency reflection paper on the regulatory guidance for the use of health-related quality of life measures in the evaluation of medicinal products.

He graduated as a medical doctor from the Catholic University of Leuven in 1975. After 3 years of medical practice he started his career in the pharmaceutical industry and grew into an internationally renowned physician specialist in the field of Pharmaceutical Medicine. From 1984-1992 he was President of the ‘Belgian Association of Pharmaceutical Physicians’ (BeAPP). He is currently a fellow and trustee of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM) of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom, and Standing Officer of the International Federation of Associations of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Pharmaceutical Medicine (IFAPP).
